Sunday 13th APRIL


Sunday 13th July Aquathon

This Sunday is the last before the Easter break and we will be holding
a Club Aquathon at the swim session.

After a warm up, people will get into their lanes according to their
age groups and we will run the aquathon under race conditions, which
means, when you finish the swim you get into running gear as quickly as
possible and rund to track, where you will do the laps of the track.

For those juniors who took part in schools aquathon, it will be run the
same way. You should leave towel, trainers and T-shirt (shorts
optional)at pool side, change quickly and make you way safely down
stairs to exit to track.

Distances are as follows:

Age 8-10: swim 6 lengths. Run 2 laps.

Age 11-12: swim 10 lengths. Run 4 laps.

Age 13-15: swim 14 lengths. Run 6 laps.

The junior club will then be taking a break from training for a 3 week
period, which covers easter holidays and Liam Ball Triathlon.

Training will resume on Sunday 11th and will be geared towards building
towards our big eve…

Sunday 6th April sessions

Swimming will take place as normal this Sunday.

As posted previously,
level 2 cycling times have changed and below are names of those who
have replied to book their places and times. There are still 4 places
left for session 2, so please contact asap if you wish to participate.
we have tried to accommodate people's commitments, but if your name is
down and you can't make the time, please reply asap.

As with Level 1,
bikes will be available, but you can bring your own if you prefer.

Level 2 cycling time change

I know some people have been in touch booking slots for Level 2 this
Sunday, but unfortunately there has been a change of times available.
The Level 2 trainers are not available on Sunday morning and are
proposing times of 1-3 and 3-5. Can people let me know if any of these
times suit.

Level 2 cycling course

For the last 2 Sundays the level 1 Cycling course has been ongoing at
Templemore Sports Complex after the swim session and those juniors who
took part thoroughly enjoyed the session and will get their level 1
cycling certificates.

This Sunday will see those who completed level 1
take on Level 2. This will take place over 2 two hour sessions, with 8
juniors participating in each session. The Level 2 qualification
involves developing road sense, therefore higher levels of supervision
are required, which means that only 8 juniors can be facilitated in
each session.

The first session will run from 10:15 until 12:15 and
the second session will run from 12:30 until 2:30.

We are aware that
some families are travelling into town for the swim session, so in the
interests of fairness, it is proposed that these families should be
given priority for the first level 2 session.
