Are you interested in becoming a coach or helper in the junior club?

The junior club is going from stregth to strength and the level of
coaching being offered to our junior athletes is outstanding and
matched nowhere on this island. We have a very dedicated bunch of
coaches who give up their Sunday mornings to give first class coaching
and they will testify to the enjoyment and satisfaction they get from
this sacrifice of their time.

There are only a few weeks left before
the junior members take part in their own big event and it would be
great to see as many of our senior members as possible coming along to
help out on the day. There is a role for everyone on the day as we are
hoping to have over 300 young people taking part in aquathon, duathlon
or triathlon, so please give a few hours of your time to make this
event as enjoyable and successful as possible.

The junior club will
then be taking a break for the summer months to start back in September
with a new, exciting and challenging programme and we are looking to
grow our pool of coaches to help deliver this programme. Being a coach
does not mean you have to give up every Sunday morning, but it helps us
develop the range of the programme, to make it more age and ability
specific. If you are interested in giving some of your time to the
junior club, we are planning to offer a range of coaching courses,
provided by Triathlon Ireland coaches. If you would like to help out,
but not in the capacity of a coach, we will also be offering courses
aimed at those who want to be helpers.

It is hoped that these courses
will take place at the Sports Complex before the end of June, but
before that happens we need to have an idea of the level of interest.
If you are a parent of a young person in the junior club, but not a
member yourself of the North West Triathlon Club, you are more than
welcome to take part in any of these courses, and in fact we would
encourage you to do so.

So what should you do now?

If interested,
please put your name forward to Tommy Mc Callion, Austin Cutliffe or
Gerry Mc Dermott asap, with contact details and a bit of information as
to whether you are interested in being a coach or helper.

Many thanks
in advance.
